My work fluctuates and mixes figuration and abstraction. It also makes comments about the world around us. My work describes natural phenomena and moods during early morning or twilight.
In my prints I explore the symbolic meaning of objects, memories and stories, often containing powerful emotions. Memories give a special meaning to everyday objects, and when different objects are combined the meanings make new stories.
In my paintings colour and light have the primary role, which are built of, and around, them.
I use thin, transparent veils of paint that drip, flow and fall on top of, or underneath, heavy thick impasto. I use colour and forms that jar, rest against each other, and pull out of the tangle, a whole.
